This is the story of before and after Winnie the Pooh. It shows how the books came to be written, what happened next, and the consequences for young Billy, the real life Christopher Robin. Domnhall Gleeson plays AA Milne, back home from the trenches in 1916, damaged, and determined to write a book about the war.  How that plan turned into the Winnie books is the remarkable subject of this heart warming movie.

If you are a fan of the bear then don’t worry, the people behind this movie understand the magic and, somehow, bring it alive on screen.

‘With its bittersweet interweaving of fact and fantasy, youthful innocence and adult trauma, this tale of the creation of a children’s classic could have been called Saving Mr Milne.’
