The director Julian Schnabel creates an impressive and visually audacious entry into the ‘locked-in’ world of former Elle editor Bauby.The viewer is dragged into this tender, sensuous and sad world. It works to re-evaluate his life – the recently abandoned wife, his children, his mistress, his doctors and the comedy that is unleashed when ignorance and disability collide. Come and be locked in for two hours and feel more human for it.
